Obama Setting Up To Jetison Israel

Obama Setting Up To Jettison Israel

Now how could I make such a claim as that???

A lot of things came together into one too many coincidences today.

First off was Joe Biden somewhat strange announcement Sunday:

"Mark my words," the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

"I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate," Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. "And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you - not financially to help him - we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right."

Now first ask yourself why say this? What is the purpose in making this public? Maybe the answer is to pave the way for new policy.

Notice that Biden says it will be a generated crisis, something that is deliberate and not just a victim of circumstances.

Next the assertion that Obama will need our help, but not financial help. We are to use our influence to persuade others that a radical change in course is the right choice. See where Biden says, "It's not gonna be apparent initially that we're right."

Joe "The I'm on the wrong side in foreign affairs all the time" Biden wants to be able next year to say I told you so, I was right, see it happened. Pretty easy to be right Joe, when you are making the event happen yourself. Biden wants to be like Isaiah prophesying the coming of Christ. You heard it here first, Joe will chorttle.

So what change in policy is Biden setting up? Hang on, we have to think this thing through some more.

On the same day, the very same day, Sunday, Colin Powell endorses Obama and in his long interview on Meet The Press are these words:

and there's
going to be a crisis come along in the 21st or 22nd of January that we don't
even know about right now

The new President is inaugurated on January 20, 2009.

What is this crisis that we don't know about but Colin Powell and Joe Biden know about? And what is Obama going to do that will at first seem wrong but will in time be seen to be the right course.

We are not there yet. It got me to thinking. Something Jesse Jackson said back a few weeks as reported by the NY Post.

The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where "decades of putting Israel's interests first" would end.
Jackson believes that, although "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" remain strong, they'll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.

Notice the word Zionists. This is code used by anti Semites.

Ok this has something to do with Israel, but what? We're still not there yet.

It goes back to Obama's pals, to the people around him in his life, the I never knew they were like that people - Rev. Wright, Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Father Pfleger and Rashid Khalidi - all anti Semites. Rev. Wright who in a church newsletter advocated divesting from Israel to “wake Americans up concerning the injustice and racism under which Palestinians have lived because of Zionism,” actually visited Khadafi in Libya to present Louis Farrakhan, a noted anti Semite, an award.

Are we there yet? Not quite.

Then there are the anti Israel and anti Semitic advisors on Obama's staff - Zbiegnew Brzezinski, Wesley Clark, Robert Malley, Samantha Power, General Tony Peak, George Soros, Joseph Cirincione.

So we have come to the end of the trail which leads us to the conclusion.

It is well known that Israel wants to take out Iran's nuclear facilities and uranium stores. It is waiting until they are sufficiently established to make an easier target. Israel also knows that President Bush will not object to a bombing takeout of Iran's capabilities. This was all discussed at a high level meeting between Bush and Israeli officials at the White House not too many months ago.

Now Israel would prefer to wait awhile but if Obama is elected President they feel that they will have to move between November 4, 2008 and January 20, 2009. Israel does not feel it has a friend in Obama nor would they get his blessing for such action.

They are right. The help Obama needs on January 21st and 22nd is his dumping Israel as an ally, of damming its bombing of Iran and cutting off all financial aid and assistance including any military hardware. In essence we will no longer be friends with the state of Israel nor will we protect them. They will be on their own.

10/21/08 UPDATE ADDITION

James Taranto of the Wall Street Journal had these comments regarding Hugh Hewitt's conjecture:

Yesterday we noted that Joe Biden had warned supporters in Seattle that he expects a major crisis to strike during the first six months of an Obama administration, told them that he expects Obama's response to the crisis to be unpopular, and exhorted them to be prepared to stand by him, even if he appears to be wrong.

Hugh Hewitt thinks he knows what Biden has in mind:

Biden has been receiving the sorts of briefings that nominees receive, and he's been to the sort of meetings where our allies talk candidly of the gathering storm they see coming closer.
And Biden suspects that Obama will react to the coming crisis in a way that demoralizes the country and which shatters public confidence in Obama.
Biden dismisses the ability of the American military to deal with far flung threats, tells the audience "Mark my words," and then preemptively implores them to "be prepared to stick with us," after telling them "we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him."
The most obvious interpretation of this ramble is that an Iran-Israel confrontation is coming, and that if Obama is president, America will sit it out with, at best, words that do nothing to support Israel or deter Iran.
